CES 2023 was our introduction to the tech industry. Wow. It was overwhelming. We had our 1ox10 booth with our headsets and a television linked up to our website, Pomonaroma.com. I knew CES was big but I didn’t realize it was THAT big. People from all over the world passed our booth. Even though, compared to other booths, we were pretty underwhelming but, believe it or not, it was for this reason, people were interested in seeing ‘why the heck were we there’. I am not sure we knew what we were in for but we enjoyed the experience.
There was one person that came to our booth that I will never forget. It was on the last day of the conference. The attendees had dwindled down considerably. A lot of the booths were closed. We stayed till the end as we didn’t want to miss a single person willing to speak to us. This one woman was passing our booth. She seemed to be just passing by. Very unassuming. She didn’t seem like the other visitors. She stopped in front of the booth and looked passed us and looked at the Television we had displayed. I asked if she would like to us to show her our product. She declined. She asked if she could donate some money. I was taken aback but I knew she was trying to be kind. I graciously told her she was very kind but she didn’t have to do that. She then presented us with $20. I insisted that she keep her money. The mere thought of her making the offer was enough for me. I thought it was a good sign of things to come. Her insistence overruled mine. It really seemed that I would offend her if I didn’t take her $20. I hope to someday meet her again to say “Thank You”.
